Tai Chi Retreats-
What's on offer?

The Retreats timetable (see our full provisional timetable) give a good mix of structured training and free time for you to use either within the site or outside.

Apart from the Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung there is the following on offer.

Therapies.

The retreats are in association with Equilibrium Holistic Centre and a number of individual therapists, enabling us to offer visitors the chance to indulge in one or more of the therapies. What is on offer will vary from Retreat to Retreat so please contact us for full details. The therapies will need to be booked when booking the Retreats and prices vary depending on the therapy. There will be a room in the "big tent", divided off from the rest, for the therapies giving you all the privacy that is needed.

Storytelling and Food

Available on the Saturday night, set either within the wood henge or the "big tent", there will be the opportunity to join us for a big veggy stew feast and listen to Don Macer-Wright tell tales of the Severn and it's Goddess Sabrina, the bore and the myths and magic surrounding the Temple site and Dean Hall itself. A wonderful evening taking you from Celtic Briton to the modern day. You'll need a warm blanket to cuddle up in and possibly someone to keep you company when you walk back to your tent or accommodation, if the tales turn to ghosts! All visitors are free to bring their own food or have what is on offer, any special dietary requests please let us know when you book.

The Severn Bore

If the timing is right, there may be the opportunity for you to see the wonderful phenomenon that is the Severn Bore. Although the tide happens every day, twice a day, it is only on the bigger tides that the wave sweeps up the river. Unfortunately the best tides are in the Spring and Autumn, however there are often waves in the summer and whether the Bore is 2 inches or 10 feet high it is something that has to be seen - and may quite possibly be a time limited spectacle if the Severn Barrage goes ahead. Bore times will be available and we will let you know if any retreats coincide with the tide.

The Forest of Dean

The Forest is a wonderful place for walking and cycling, with the possibility of seeing deer and even the elusive wild bore. For more information about the surrounding area please visit The Forest of Dean Website.
